Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to ensure regular meetings of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) as mandated by the Constitution.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Gandapur highlighted that Article 154(3) of the Constitution requires the CCI to meet every 90 days. However, this obligation has not been fulfilled, with the last meeting held in January.

Gandapur stressed that delays in convening CCI meetings undermine the economic interests of provinces. He emphasized the importance of addressing critical issues faced by federating units through timely meetings, which would promote collaboration, inter-provincial harmony, and socio-economic development across Pakistan.

The Chief Minister's appeal underscores the CCI's role in fostering unity among provinces and addressing pressing economic challenges. Ensuring adherence to this Constitutional requirement is crucial for maintaining a balanced and effective federal system.
