Israel Raids Gaza Hospital, Orders Evacuation Amid Ongoing Strikes

CAIRO: Israeli forces on Friday stormed the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, ordering the evacuation of hundreds of people, including 75 patients, and setting parts of the facility ablaze, according to Gaza's health ministry. Contact with staff inside the hospital has been lost, and Palestinian officials have accused Israeli forces of targeting critical medical infrastructure.

Israeli airstrikes elsewhere in Gaza claimed 25 lives, with 15 people killed in a single house in Gaza City, medics reported.

The Israeli military stated that the hospital was being used as a base by Hamas fighters and insisted that measures had been taken to ensure civilian safety during the operation. However, Hamas and Palestinian health officials have denied these claims, alleging that medical staff were forced to evacuate under duress and that surgical facilities were deliberately set on fire.

Footage shared online showed smoke rising from the hospital, adding to fears of worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza. Israeli forces have repeatedly targeted hospitals in northern Gaza, including the Indonesian and Al-Awda hospitals, which have already been rendered inoperable.

Health officials report that over 45,300 Palestinians have been killed during Israel's campaign against Hamas, with the majority of Gaza's 2.3 million population displaced. Entire neighborhoods in northern Gaza have been leveled, raising concerns about Israel's post-war intentions for the region.
