A video surfaced on social media showing fans cutting a cake at the Kapoor Haveli to honor the iconic actor, known as the "eternal showman" of Bollywood. The centenary celebrations in Peshawar were organized by the Cultural Heritage Council (CHC) and the Directorate of Archaeology Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with Muhammad Hussain Haidery, Secretary of the Pak-Iran Trade and Investment Council, serving as the chief guest. The event also emphasized the importance of such cultural gatherings to honor Kapoor's legacy.
Born as Shrishti Nath Kapoor in Peshawar on December 14, 1924, to Prithviraj Kapoor and Ramsarni Kapoor, Raj Kapoor went on to become a household name in Indian cinema. His early years in the film industry were marked by the founding of the famous RK Films studio in 1948 and the release of his first directorial film, Aag. Over the decades, Kapoor produced several landmark films, including Barsaat (1949), Awaara (1951), Shree 420 (1955), Sangam (1964), Mera Naam Joker (1970), Bobby (1973), and Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985).
