Jamaat Urges Govt to Talk to Taliban
JI Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rahman urges the federal government to engage the Taliban in dialogue to tackle violence in KP, criticizing the inaction of authorities.
Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) central emir Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has expressed deep concerns over the worsening violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). He called on the federal government to initiate meaningful dialogue with Afghanistan's ruling Taliban to address the persistent lawlessness in the region.
Rahman made these remarks during a visit to a seminary in Inayat Kallay, where he extended condolences to the family of local JI leader Mohammad Hamid Sufi, who was fatally attacked on Thursday evening.
Highlighting the years-long insurgency in KP, particularly in tribal districts, Rahman noted the devastating toll on innocent lives. He criticized both federal and provincial governments for failing to safeguard citizens, calling it their fundamental duty.
Rahman also questioned the effectiveness of governmental efforts to curb violence, stressing the need for actionable measures. His appeal for dialogue with the Taliban underscores the urgency of finding a sustainable solution to the region's escalating security challenges.
