WKAF highlights the Kashmir crisis on UN Human Rights Day with digital truck ads in NYC, urging global action to resolve decades-long human rights violations in IIOJK.
The World Kashmir Awareness Forum (WKAF) marked the United Nations Human Rights Day by spotlighting the decades-long human rights crisis in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). To raise awareness, WKAF deployed digital advertising trucks across New York City, displaying impactful messages such as "Indian Atrocities at its Peak: Kashmiris Want World to Speak" and "Kashmiris Reject Indian Occupation: UN Resolution Only Solution." These ads were prominently showcased at locations like the UN headquarters, Times Square, and the Freedom Tower from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Dr. Ghulam N. Mir, WKAF President, criticized the UN’s inaction on Kashmir and other indigenous crises, while Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Chairman of the World Forum for Peace & Justice, stressed that self-determination is critical for peace. Various leaders, including Professor Imtiaz Khan and Raja Mukhtar, highlighted the plight of political prisoners, ongoing atrocities, and the need for global intervention to resolve the Kashmir issue.
